In 1950’s a group of American composers were consumed by the idée fix of freeing the performer from fixed musical parameters: pitch, rhythm, dynamics, etc… The tendency resulted in innovatory notations that went under a name of open works. Two faithful ‘realizations’ could be radically different . Similar thing occurs in the case of the installation in question, where the audience blends in intensely with the performers and the score they play is contained within a 3d space! Manifesto: 1. Along with the audience we liberate the sounds (of Norkraft’s 3rd floor) via recording and playing them back in different compositions. Playback is controlled by the users. 2. There is no such thing as perfect silence. 3. The space is active and reactive. Everything can be heard and seen. 4. The interaction is based on the idea of human playfulness and will to investigate.
